Now, don't go pulling your hair out...

Subtracting fractions and regrouping will get easier, if you do two things.
1. Pay attention in class
2. Find the method that works for you

I have posted a couple of videos. Watch them until you understand, because we will be working on regrouping and subtraction of fractions for a few more days.

Subtraction of fractions...

Here's one way you can do it. I prefer doing it this way as I can see all my steps. Tomorrow we will be doing a worksheet on subtraction, so, please be on time.

Here's a quick video on addition and subtraction. Have a look.  If you want to get right to subtraction, scroll half way through.

Have a listen.

We will continue to work on our comic strips and having good manners. Yes?

See you all tomorrow.

Eeek!!! Fractions....

Don't be scared....lol

Yes, I am sorry to let you all know, we will be doing fractions for the next little while. If you pay attention in class and ask for help, if you need it, you will do just fine. Don't panic, it will come to you.

Just a reminder to some of you. Please try to show up on time so you do not miss the initial lesson in math. It is very important that you be there.

For those of you who didn't finish 4.2, have it on my desk first thing in the a.m.

See you tomorrow.

We are doing poetry read alouds...

The first half of the class did their individual poetry read aloud today
and the other half will read tomorrow. I know some of you are very shy, but I encourage all of you to give it a try. You will find the more you have to stand in front of people the easier it will become. I promise.

Everyone did a really good job on their math today. It's what every teacher likes to see.

Remember, Toy Bingo on Saturday. See you there.

Well, we are almost finished reading 'The Trenches' and....

having our Veterans' assembly became more meaningful for some students.  I hope the following song does the same thing.

For Markie and Shelby.....a

It was nice to see two of my former students at school on Wednesday. I hope you both are enjoying your high school experience.  I really enjoyed teaching both of you, really, I did.  You guys were intelligent and extremely funny. You made me smile everyday, except I don't think you knew that. Anyway,

Remember....

Today was a busy day.

Today some students visited the high school of their choice and other students attended the Career Fair at the Community Hall. I sincerely hope all students found an area of interest to them. It is never to early to start thinking about your future. It will arrive sooner than you think.

Now for something completely different.
